This morning, I read an interesting article on Wired.com about how the American-based MySpace.com is trying to compete with Japanese-based Mixi.jp in the Japanese social networking arena. To read the article, click on the "Related Link" at the bottom of this post.

As some of you might know, I recently joined Mixi. I have found it quite interesting; there are noticable difference from MySpace. Mixi seems to be more suited to Japanese culture. Here is a bit from the article about that:

MySpace is about me, me, me, and look at me and look at me and look at me," said Tony Elison, senior vice president at Viacom International Japan, which is offering its own Japanese-language social networking service here. "In Mixi, it's not all about me. It's all about us."... Kasahara [Mixi Inc. President] calls it a "friendly mood that values harmony."

For my Mixi friends, I'd love to hear your comments on this article. And of course, as always, I enjoy comments from anyone reading this blog. PS. The concert last night was great. I'll try to upload a photo or two in the next few days.
